Taking a personal break.. PP administration will be closed from 7th to 29th September. During this time new listings or Gallery Spaces will be not uploaded to the site. If you have any amendments to be made to your existing Gallery Space or listing, please contact me as soon as possible. Supplier listings will still be excepted and limited assistance for Gallery Space holders will be available by contacting corleigh@personallypersonalised.com.au For this reason, the Father's Day banner on the home page will remain until after I return, at which time will be replaced with a Christmas Gift Ideas banner, linked to a Christmas gift ideas page. If you have any items not already on display suitable for Christmas decorations or gifts, please forward them by October to Nina at Personally Personalised. Please specify that they are for the Christmas display. |

New Members I have decided to keep the 'member introduction' section in this update, from the first newsletter, as some displays where still under construction and since then new members have joined. You can find it at the end of this page. |

Art and Craft Supplies As mentioned in the last update, PP has opened it's doors to Art and Craft Suppliers. To date we have seven members in this section and will continue to grow it steadily. The Attic I have cleaned out the Attic to make way for PP newsletters and articles of interest. So if you are every trying to find any past updates, they will probably be stored in the Attic. |

Handmade Magazine Finally, the ad for the October issue of the Handmade magazine has been submitted and approved.. It will hopefully attract more crafty, talented people to join us and will run every 2nd issue from Oct 2009 to Aug 2010. Again, a big thank you to Honie Designs, Funky Letters and MooBee Tees for the use of their graphics. |

Personally Personalised is now a proud supporter of the Handmade Expo! Stalls selling all things handmade are on sale once a month at the IPSWICH TURF CLUB BRISBANE ROAD, BUNDAMBA, QLD... I will be making theh drive in October to take in the sights for myself and to spread the PP word. The Handmade Expo blog site is informative and has many interesting articles and links to other artists and craft people. A great place to get or stay inspired, learn from others and share ideas. If you are lucky enough to live in the Ipswich or Brisbane area, make a day of it and pay them a visit. It is on today, 15/08/09. Next Expo date is 26th September. Adults $2 Kids are free! |

I have also been conducting my own search engine study, using a small selection of 'keywords' and I am happy to say that PP is becoming more and more visible on the web. Considering only 2 months have passed, and with the help of professionals, as well as my own continuing efforts, I am sure we will all start seeing increased site traffic within the coming year. I have put together some stats on the right - click to enlarge the graph. The study was conducted by searching only the first 3 pages of Google, as most people don't look any further than this. Also taken into consideration were the number of times PP appeared on the page and in what position, on the page. |

Communication and Broken Links |

I cannot stress how important it is to maintain prompt and effective communication with potential and existing customers, suppliers and the general public. Even getting back to someone saying you are busy and will address the matter soon, is better than no communication at all. It is becoming more and more evident that society, in particular the internet world, is placing less importance on quality communication. Some recent personal experiences (not with PP members) have really driven home how inefficient some businesses and staff members conduct themselves. On the other hand, don't forget to commend businesses and their employees, when the service is outstanding! Just as annoying are broken links on internet sites. Try to check that links on your own site or blog are valid and take the time to report broken links on other sites. I would certainly like to know if PP had any broken links. |

I was delighted by the prompt payment of Gallery rent by PP members. I have never thought it to be a good business practice to charge someone for something they had not even seen yet, like most other website services. That's why I prefer to send invoices after Gallery Spaces have been set up. However, if members do not pay their rent in a timely manner or responded to PP emails, they will have the doors on their Gallery Space locked , temporarily. If payment is still not received in a reasonable amount of time, their display will be removed until their account is settled ...I really don't like to take this course of action, but fair is fair.
